Lucy is an oil painter and teacher, living in Leamington Spa. Her aim is to produce art that is full of character and colour. A good composition and the freedom to experiment with colour and interesting brush marks is what inspires her the most and what she enjoys teaching others.Lucy encourages students to apply the paint in a dynamic and interesting way: focusing on colour mixing, brushwork and composition.
She paints commissions, sells her work and exhibits locally with ‘Leamington Studio Artists’…and has also:
· Worked as the ‘Artist in Residence’ at ‘The Artroom’ Gallery in Leamington,
· Painted live at ‘Blenheim Palace Flower Show’
· Been a wildcard artist on ‘Landscape Artist of the Year’
· Exhibited with ‘Warwickshire Open Studios

This class is designed to help us ‘loosen up’ whilst learning the basic principles of Colour Mixing, Composition and Brushwork. Aimed at those who would like to try oil paints for the first time and those that would like to find ways to loosen up their style and paint more freely.
We will go ‘step by step’ through exercises to help us prepare our colours and surface ready for painting a single rose. We will simplify it down into basic shapes and tones then do a series of exercises that encourage us to paint confidently in an economical yet inventive way! Are you intrigued? Be brave…let’s give it a try.
